Gumtrails is a community-built BMX trail crew based in Durbanville Hills, Cape Town. What started as a group of friends riding together has grown into a dedicated collective of riders, builders, and supporters who are passionate about creating and maintaining quality dirt jumps and freestyle BMX lines for the local scene.
We build and maintain the trails by hand, mostly on weekends, driven by a shared love for riding, progression, and giving back to the community. Gumtrails is not a commercial park — it’s a grassroots space shaped by the people who ride it, where all skill levels are welcome and creativity is encouraged.
Our focus is on safe, well-built lines, respect for the environment and surrounding residents, and fostering a positive culture around BMX. Events like the Halloween Jam are an extension of that ethos — bringing riders together, celebrating progression, and showcasing what can be achieved when a community pulls in the same direction.
Gumtrails exists because of the crew, the volunteers, and the wider BMX community that continues to support and grow it.
